My buddy Jason was the 4th blaster rider. He had a stock hull with hull extensions (now the stock hull for my 1100) with a Lamey PV as well. No matter what we did, his was never as quick as ours. More than likely the weight.
Racing Blasters in sport class vs. high end HXs is a job, lol. If it was easy, everyone would do it.
In all seriousness tho, I thoroughly enjoyed racing the HXs. One, I new I would always be ahead of them at the first turn and two, most never thought we could beat them even if we did. I won most of the races I entered against some really nice HXs and some really good rider. But, it took a serious commitment to do it. Once I lost interest in training and spending so much money on sport skis, I was toast. I guess that is one of the reason's why blasters always appealed to me, even though you 'can' sit on one, I never did and no matter how fast my equipment was, if I didn't do what was required of me, I wasn't going to win $hit. I had to earn it.
BMWtech - who is Chris? Hyslop? Macc? If you mean Macc, yes, I raced him one time, in the ocean during a bad storm at Myrtle Beach. I think he lapped me on the last lap. His surf skills were simply 100 times better than anyone else on the line. I would have loved to race him on flat water, but it never happened.
