bought the jetmaniac shafts at the same time as the Maxx pumps, maxx pumps got through customs into the UK quicker than the JM stuff (UK customs issue not JM !) - ran the maxx shaft for a few weeks then switched it out when opportunity presented

Maxx is sending a replacement, really happy with the pump itself just not with the rust on the driveshaft. Will see how the replacement does and report back after a while of use.

rust on a shaft isnt that big a deal as long as they arent weak enough metal to strip out in the midshaft, how are they holding up in that respect?

Splines look great, however I just removed the impeller and rust under it was way worse then the pics I posted, actually ate away significant amount of metal. was really tough getting the prop off also.

Is the replacement shaft made of the same material?

strangely the threads look better then between the threads and the nose cone. Looks like trapped water just ate at the shaft. Had it been salt water I'm not sure much would be left.

The higher strength SS alloys are partially metallic, therefore rust, unless you take post machining corrosion protection measures. Added cost, time, etc

We do a lot of Titanium Nitride (TiN) coatings. Would be ideal for shaft splines and it's super cheap.
