Back to work on this thing again. He cut the footholds out because the ski had a crack at bondline on right side behind it. He dug the glue out on both sides, cleaned it, and used a dremel to rough it up for some biax reinforcement. The glass goes on today and the pump shoe goes in as well. Still a lot to do.

Mine's a healthy 1/4", I took the top off as much as I felt comfortable with. Now deciding whether to go the grinding/belt sander root to make it flush at the bottom of the hull. Thanks for the feedback.

Hmmmm.......WoW ....... cruising your thread this am, what a "good" father you are "teaching" young mac dog the fine skills of refurbishing "his " first ski ..... You wouldn't happen to have a fence that needs to be white washed would you ?

I'll be calling you today Mr Finn .

I've been terrible at updating this thread. He turns 14 next month and has finally got some fire under his butt to get it done. We used 5200 and then epoxy with microballoons to seal up all the inserts and through hull fittings in the tray. We glassed both sides of the rear bondline from the inside to reinforce the cracking bondline. We glassed over a crack in the bulkhead. We dremeled out and filled all cracks in the gelcoat on the outside with marinetex. Ripped the carbon reinforcement off one side of the engine compartment because it wasn't adhering well only to find biax reinforcement under it that was in good shape. We also glassed over a crack in the hood lip from the inside. He just filled the tray with polystyrene and we will be classing it back together this weekend.
All that will be left is checking motor mount inserts, moving some tank and waterbox inserts, some more body work and paint inside and out. Then it's just turf and graphics and build.20180213_182012.jpg20180213_182107.jpg20180213_182113.jpg20180311_174222.jpg20180311_181704.jpg
