Super Jet Mdavies' SN - Winter Project

Drain plugs installed, Dow foam jammed into every spot I could find. Waiting till the morning to file down some of the foam that is sticking out. I didn't want to wake the entire house will all the tools. Tommorrow will be my first time glassin so wish me luck.

I decided to leave the spring in there for now, and if I do feel like running a tight pole, I will swap it out mid season.

Dropped the motor back in after cleaning out the hull with a decent scrub. I should be painting it, but the proper paint is a fortune. Waiting on the Factory Pipe which will arrive on the 18th.

Kind of all over the place, but I am happy with how it is progressing. Will post pic's tomorrow of the tray update.

no, it may actually allow you to not have to crank the bolt as tight because it makes the pole feel lighter. I shed any weight i can on my setup so in the garbage it goes.

Its about time.... I have officially laid some fiberglass.

I just finished the first coat of glass on the left side of the tray, and it looks really good. Used 4 strips about 2" wide around the entire cut. I am shocked how well I estimated the amount of resin to us, I had no excess nor shortage.

Going to have to wait to get started on the other side and the tray itself. Going to let the cure for the afternoon and head out to the lady's.

Will snag some pics as soon as I find a camera.

Most pics of the Lady I keep for myself, and are not usually shared with the public.

As for the ski, I did manage to do another layer of glass on the one side, while doing a first coat on the other side.

Still no sign of a digital camera. Will take some with Iphone and post, but beware of sh!tty quality.

Hahaha. Busted at 5:39am. Alright. If I admit I learned my lesson, I might as well commit to it. I will rip out that spring and tighten her up. I will post pictures for proof so I don't cheat.

you shouldn't have to remove the spring to crank down the pole tight so it is stiff. Just give it a good heave ho and you should be good. You may need to put some red loctitie on the nuts to make sure they do't loosen up.

yup its worth a try and if not you can keep the spring on but do need to get at least one metal washer in there to give some bindage to make it tight.

they will hold up but are slippery and need to be tightened to the point of snapping something. i use friction to make my pole tight, instead of overstreassing the parts by just straight up cranking it.
