Super Jet Mdavies_02 Second Attempt

Hey Everybody,

Picked up this 98 RN Hull outta Ohio last weekend from Matt Smith (Great guy), and now the build that follows. That with my new (to me) 781 JM/Blue should be a great match.

Items on the menu

- Reinforce the bottom of the ski (Turns out the sides were already done)
- Paint hood to match/contrast
- Transplant everything from my TDC
- Gain reliability

Order in transit from JM

SBT wear ring with replaceable delrin plastic liner
Hooker 144mm 10/16
3/8" hose fitting
Superjet 1990-2013 OEM 144mm pump shoe
Pump wear ring to pump shoe seal
Impeller washers (For Solas Mag)
Fuel tank check valve
dual 38 Carb base gasket
JM Yamasaki NEW ignition coil (black)
MSD retainers
Flywheel cover gasket
NGK Solid Top Spark Plugs for ADA Head
Cold Fusion Flywheel lock/break
Midshaft Cover

Excited to have a setup that doesn't break biweekly.

Here is what the ski looks like as it sits. I started stripping down the two layers of paint in the bilge to start reinforcing.

I haven't really attempted to keep this up to date, but here is a few pictures

Filthy B Pipe pre clean up.

Managed to take a razor blade down one side to remove crusty Paint(?). Came out very nice.

Other side won't take a blade, so sanding her down. Progress is slow

Update on hood. Both sides pretty clean, just gotta clean out the center. Then to figure out paint.

Pump, Engine, and pole installed. Waiting on fatbars, and titan steering.

Engine compartment with bottom reinforced, and painted. 790 JM/Blue installed. Waiting to drop in electrionics to avoid fighting with them for bilge pump install.

Wow already have the pole mounted! Looks good!

I've had it for 5 hours, plenty of time lol.

Are you going to try and paint the same puzzle peaces on the hood/nose peace?

My goal was to go with a red/black theme, so I am considering painting the hood in the same pattern but red. However, I can't paint at all, so looking into having someone do it.

As for the nose piece, It is visual carbon so not sure what to do. Worse case I leave it and it looks fine against the black.

Small updated.

Hand warmer's partially installed, bars, grips installed. Not much progress on hood.

Hoping to install battery, finish handwarmers, mount bilge, Ebox, gas tank, and tidy up all the wires/fuel lines

Picked up the pipe yesterday from the welding shop. I left it there three weeks just to give it some tlc on some rubbing that happened over the past few years. Sadly, the guy didn't get a chance to do it and I want to ride this weekend so scraped the polishing idea and just throwing a coat of High Temp paint on it. Installed bilge, battery, fuel lines, and tank.

Just got to put in the exhaust chamber, hook up water lines, set handle pole length, and have the courage to hit the green button. It's snowing today so I think my plans are getting pushed to sunday, which is hopefully going to be 10*C and sunny.

Pipe in, waterbox to chamber was tight, but made it work

Fuel lines, water lines, handwarmers all hooked up. Going to do a test ride before I start organizing everything. If there is an issue I want access

My handlepole didn't come with a stop, so I picked up some piece of SS at the machine shop.... but I can't drill it. Any recommendations?
