Mid-shaft Bearings

The engine and pump are out of my 08 SJ. The coupler on the mid-shaft wiggles back and forth a little, is this normal? I wasn't sure if the pump shaft being out made it looser. If I try to wiggle the shaft itself where it goes into the bearings it seems tight.

The coupler should not be loose on the midshaft. You need to tighten it up.

The coupler isn't loose on the shaft, I didn't explain it right.

The coupler and shaft are tight together, it's the coupler/shaft that moves side to side a little (has play in it) in the housing. At first thought you would think the bearings were worn. But I have the pump and shaft out of it so I'm wondering if its loose because of that. The shaft is at the lake so I can't slip it back in to check right now.

I borrowed a shaft and slipped it in place. presto, the coupler no longer has any side to side play.
