Midshaft bearing play?

I have a 94 sn 860cc Ada engine and the exhaust side motor mounts snapped but I was still riding about ten min till I noticed. I have engine out now and when I grab on midshaft I see a ill bit of flex in the rubber of the bearing mount and a little bit of movement up and down where shaft meets the bearing. Is this normal to have small amount of movement? When engine is hooked up there is no movement at all. Thanks for the info

The rubber acts as a point of give. The drivetrain can flex a little bit. I can't be too scientific, but a little play is normal with the rubber portion of the midshaft housing. You can move the midshaft a little bit with your hands. It should still feel "Sturdy" though.

Now if you're seeing play between the midshaft and the bearing itself, I'd recommend you repair that.

Ok. And when I turn the midshaft I can hear impeller scraping sand against metal in there not sure if this is normal. I'm gonna go check on the play between shaft and bearing. Thank you for the info
