Midshaft gone bad - Now how do I remove it ?

2000 RN From advise from a few members, I checked out my midshaft and found that the bearings had failed. I ordered a new assembly and now need to remove old one. I have everything cleared and removed the (3) bolts, but it does not seem to want to budge. What is the best way to remove the midshaft assembly? Any advise will be greatly appreciated Thank you

You have to pull the engine first. Then with the 3 bolts out it will pull out towards the front of the ski.

It probably has silicone adhering it to the bulk head.. you can heat it “Where it meets the bulk head” with a heat gun to soften it and get under it with a putty knife or just use a putty knife...

I use grease on the rear flap... also grease your splines and some time snide mid shaft....
have a look at your driveshaft splines for wear and also alignment.....

Make sure your midshaft comes with the orings that go inside it, or order them before installing it.

That goes along with my next question- How do you remove the shaft from the bearing?

I do it with a 20 ton Harbor Freight press. Best cheap Harbor Freight tool ever.
