Say something like $30 to rebuild if we buy your rebuild kit. $40 if we supply the parts. Add an additional $10-$20 for really nasty midshafts like the one Dan posted due to the excessive cleanup effort.

I'd love to pay an additional $10-$20 extra to save this really nasty one...

If you have to take your mid shaft to some one and they have to take it apart clean it/inspect it and make sure it salvageable that's one thing. Alone in labor you're looking at an hour with dissambly, cleaning , and PROPER reassembly. A fair charge IMO would be 80 doll hairs plus parts. Now if all you have to do is slap the parts together then yes 15 minutes with proper tools so maybe 20 bucks is fair. Take into consideration if you take it to a licensed shop it's going to cost more but your not going to be ringing some ones door bell when you have a problem. Jetskis break so make sure who ever works on it knows what the heck they're doing so you don't have to do it twice.

Good point, I have seen so many midshafts and pumps built by ??? with seals in backwards, in the wrong order, on the wrong side, missing 1 seal, improperly greased, Shaft pressed incorrect depth, etc., etc.

I would say 75 is fair, I can do midshafts in about 20 minutes clean up disassembly and reassembly. Pumps take longer because I like to clean all of the grease out before I disassemble them. I have been using sealed bearings in my pump, zero maintinence.
