Midshaft/Pump Removal Problem-HELP!!!!!!!!

I am ready to go postal!!!!!!!!!
I removed all mounting bolts for the midshaft and the pump, but cannot get them to release from each other.

Is there a trick anyone knows?

I have tried rubber mallet on both. Nothing.

I have used hammer and mini sledge with 2x4. Nothing.

Help!!!!!!!!!!

have a look at the center of the coupler
sometimes you will find an alen bolt at the center, screwed into the long shaft
this is made insted of replacing the warn shaft tooth

If this is a SJ you need to pull down on the pump before it will come out. There are two dowels in the wear ring that are keeping it from pulling straight out.
