Super Jet midshaft seal trashed!

What are my options? Does any one sell new ones or should I just 5200? I really dont want to replace the whole carrier, but that cold fusion one looks really sexy!

It is the rubber gasket that presses against the firewall. The oil seals are fine, but I want to keeP as much salt water out as possible

Get another one! I'd also rather go for a fresh/freshly rebuilt oem one. Plus a broken one may/will cause cavitation.

I have the SBT one, it is OK, but I would go OEM or cold fusion (possibly) next time.

None of the manuals or part diagrams I have found show a gasket there, just silicone. Or am I missing something???

There is a raised rubber ring. It is part of the vulcanized bearing holder and not a separate part.

its not the saltwater you have to worry about with a devulcanixed midshaft carrier...its the AIR that leaks thru and causes cavitation that will drive you nutz

Brian, if the rubber around the midshaft, between the housing isn't separated, then just rebuild your OEM midshaft. The cold fusion one is nice, but you're talking 40 dollars to rebuild or 250 to replace.

Brian, the cold fusion bearing housing is designed for a/m hulls without the setback in the firewall which allows the inner carrier housing to flex. Your new superfreak hull has a firewall just like oem and does not specifically need the cold fusion housing. It is billet beautiful, but you can use a used oem or new sbt housing without issue. You can send me your midshaft and I will rebuild it with whatever housing you prefer.
