Other Mikuni Carb Adjustment Screw Cap?

Hello Guys,

I am helping a buddy out with adjusting his carbs and I just recently put T Handle Adjustment screws in my but my carbs never had a black cap on them prior to removing the high and low end screw.

My buddies ski has a round black cap and I am not sure how to remove that cap so we can get to the adjustment screws to make some changes.

Has anyone seen this before and if yes how do you remove that cap?

if your talking about the plastic black cap that covers the adjustment screw.. you just pull it off

That is what I am talking about but they are flush. I have tried to pry them out but cant get them.

If its the later models they come blocked and you have to drill out the caps and remove them by either prying it out with a small screw driver or screwing a screw and then prying on it.

yah just went through this on my 08. it was a hassle that yamaha threw in the mix if you have to adjust the screws. anyway, mine were really in there. i drilled small pilot holes and then drilled them again using a bit almost the size of the cap, about half way in they loosened up and popped out.
