Hej Flash-FX. Removed the flywheel cover and it smelled strongly of gas in there. See images is that excessive gunk? Havent pressure tested yet.

not normal. Must do a leak down test to determine where the leak is coming from, could be crank seals, could be case mating surface. Air leaks cause the motor to run lean and blow up, so yes, that would cause piston scoring.

Weird. Performed the leak down test and it held 10psi for 10 minutes without dropping. Carbs didnt lose pressure either. Hmmm.

Personally if I where going this far I would do crank seals also. Your half way there, new crank seals, gaskets and a crank inspection will ensure you have a good bottom end to last a long time.

You might adjust your riding style and only pin the throttle wide open for 3 to 5 seconds max. Wide open for 45 seconds is along time

I think your right. Gotta strip it totally and check the crank and bearingsvas well

Ok, so here is the next piece in the puzzle: check pic of the head. I dont know what to make of this. Both domes look like this.

Here's pictures of a low hours head. The casting is not machined in the dome area. Aftermarket domes are machined smooth.
