regardless of what he charged, our what our time is worth, dude paid and has been waiting.

regardless, im not here to stir the pot or get caught up in who is who does who buys who, knows blows who.

Im just happy that Mile is on the phone with the guy!

but, Im still wondering, why it took THIS thread, and all this time to get that phone call.

1 year 4 months for a complete ski built from scratch.. nothing used from anyother ski.. hummmm

it obviously wasnt his top priority QUOTE]
ya think ?? I bet he charged nothing close to what his/yours/mine time is worth..

Then I will try and end this thread in a way most will understand..

1. Jeff is selling things cheap.. support it or don't !
2. Jeff takes awhile to get things to you.. understand it.. make your choice and buy from him or don't.. accept that fact anyways..
3. Good or bad at least there is someone making a change in the way we think about skis, parts and ideas and building it !

just curious - how many of you have glass experience- made any one off parts? now how about design experience? if the answer is little to none- then how would you know what is a decent amount of time to design and build from scratch a whole hull?

and FYI installing footholds doesn't even scratch the surface of what we are talking about here.

Tom,

that stuff doesnt matter.

Mile is happy, and it appears he is finally getting his ski!

:arms:

(ive got enough glass experience to know that it doesnt take 2 years to make a hull though, unless you are making the cloth with a broken loom)

sorry but lets agree to disagree. "glasswork" is nothing compared to the time it takes to make a mold - make it perfect and then make a part from it. much less be able to design something that looks and works better than the original.

I can't think of a time when I didn't agree with your advice and opinions on here and the other site, you may have helped me out once or twice even, but I have made a part from scratch and it was small and the time it takes to make it is a fraction of the time it takes to get it from the drawing board to a mold. I couldn't even get it exactly how I wanted it. so it was only good enough. granted I am no pro but I do have some skills and I have a lot of respect for the guys who make stuff from scratch and even more for the ones who do it in their spare time not as their profession.

think about anything else made out there and try and figure how long it would take to have a new design built from scratch. even a surfboard would take some time. granted not a year and some but what do you expect- the guy is gonna shut down his operation to make a hull? and one that from the sounds of it won't be made again. he still has to run a business and make a living, right?
