64N Is not really a motor designation. Yamaha uses all kinds of symbols marked on their motors that can be confusing.

6M6 = 650
61x = 701 Single Carb
62T = Can Be either a 701 Dual Carb with 61x cylinder (Comes in Superjets & Blasters) or have 62T Cylinders (Comes in Waveraiders/Waveventures)
64X = 760 Dual Carb (WaveBlaster2, Waverunner, GP, Waveventure, XL)

Found this (Below)
6M6 = 650LX, VXR650, WRIII650, SJ650

61X = ProVXR 701, WRIII701 SJ700 (`94~95), WaveBlaster1 (`93~95), Raider 701 (96~97)

62T = SJ700 (`96+), WaveBlaster (`96+), Raider Deluxe, XL700, Venture 700

64X = GP760, WaveBlaster2, Raider 760, Venture 760, XL760

63M = Raider 1100, Venture 1100

64U = XL700, XLT700

65U = GP1200, XL1200, SUV1200

66E = GP800, GP800R, XL800, XLT800

66V = GP1200R, XL1200Ltd, XLT1200

60T = GP1300R

Post a pic. Are the carbs 38s or 44s? Are you getting that "63N" from the head, cyl, or cases?

Pretty sure that J700 means it's a 701 but those engine numbers are confusing. You really have to go by the casting numbers not really the ones on that engine tag.
