Motor choice for flat water ????

Thinking of getting a ss865 but have heard strokers will give me a better bottom end hit...... I'm getting ATP total loss for the motor and race gas is an option.

Eme with a solas mag pump.

Have heard a good ported 701 is better then big bores ? Getting confused with all the different opinions and the ss865 is big money.

My goal is to flat water flip of small boat wake

Eric flipped it with a stock 800sxr motor and b pipe ? Wouldn't a ported x701 with total loss have heaps more bottom end

I would certainly think so but remember the EME with the 800sxr motor was nosed in by one of the top riders in the world. I would think with some practice, you could consistently land BF's with a true big bore motor from a reputable builder. Any new motor is going to be big money regardless of who you buy it from though. I like the ss865 deal but I've never ridden one and I started looking at total costs involved and it starts going up from the advertised price really fast if you want everything done right.

Art Gomez at Jetworks makes one hell of a stroker motor pkg with a 61X cylinder that hits like a ton of bricks and uses affordable dome top pistons!

You would be amazed at how cheap he can build one and the fact that one of those in a 6mil will put you in a pretty elite group of Hp people!

I'll say his standard big bore hits like a mother everywhere, too....especially if you let him set up the entire package (that goes for any builder)

hey kieran i can flip a gw hull with trim off a crappy boat wake, the engine set up was just a ported 701 with 44s and a std ignition.

i think your eme will flip off a boat wake with that set up without an issue.
if your going to get an engine built art is your man his 4mm strokers are the best bang for buck youll find.

think i might run my 701 but bump up the comp add total loss and 44's and see how that works

Go ahead and buy 46's as you won't lose very much with them compared to the 44's and then if you upgrade to a bigger engine (not motor!) then your a lot better off.
When we did our testing with the SS865 engines, we tested it (827cc STD bore version) back to back with our 8mm stroker (802cc) and found that the SS package was a very good engine performance wise and cost friendly package when compared to a 8mm billet stroker price engine.
Now don't get me wrong here... the X Scream 8mm stroker package is no slouch, as we won the '08 World Finals with it, (862cc) then finished 2nd with a pump gas version (802cc) with MSD Enhancer in a stock hull in '09 World Finals.
SS verses the 8mm stroker...the 8mm will always make more power due to a better mechanics of the engine setup.

Just for referance, I built an EME with a 61X/62T 760 engine with a Flame ignition and a 42mm Magnum and saw it do a plate to plate (easily) with no boat wake so the question is.... How much less skill do you have which equals how much more power you need:smile: I hope you enjoy the flame.

ADA makes a very nice pkg for you to send to a builder and have set up without having to worry about a billet 7 port cylinder cracking on the intake side.

as i'm new to flat water i'm being realistic in saying off a boat wake and working on my own set up wake ..... in the surf i have no problems on my fixed steer
