Motor choice for flat water ????

Come on Gil, you already dropped that bag of poop on the front porch...now LITE IT.

As far as I know there are only two manufacturers with 7 port billet engines: Team Scream and the DASA small bore (<85mm) engines. I know the larger DASA billet cylinders (89+mm bore) are 5 port. So what's the story?

Kieran - slightly back on topic, what is your budget? Are you dead set on buying new?

i already have a pretty good motor so i'm just going to install the atp flame ( total loss ) and get some 31cc domes i also ave a set of gp 760 duel 44's which i have heard are a good carb for 701 ........... once i added up all the cost it was getting to expensive and i only have around 15 hrs on my motor after a rebuild. so i'll see how this works in the q8

I am going to have to ASSUME the supplier is making them right becuase the owners of the cracked cylinders are not on here wigging out. (and that to me is all that really matters is that the supplier is making them up-ASSUMING they are).

the sad part is that supplier will claim that there wasnt a problem

how old is this problem? and how many sets have cracked?

I see this thread turing to complete $hit in , t-minus 3........2.........1.........

As stated already, it must not be much of a problem because nobody is on here wiggin out and GOD knows people WILL wig out over the smallest things here on the X.

The bottom line is dam near every builder that we all know of builds a good motor if the buyer will listen to the builder and do everything the builder says to do. It is MY opinion that there are 3 really smart guys on the planet that have little things figured out that make a positive difference and the rest of the builders obviously are pretty dam smart or they would not still be building/selling high end engines.

Now to Kieran---

If I was on a small budget I would call Paul at LPW because he can make one bitchin 701 pkg that is really affordable and alot of bang for the buck.
If I were looking into strokers I would call Art at Jetworks because I am living proof that he knows Lamey cylinders inside and out and everyone knows
that Art knows ADA cylinders inside and out and also does a awesome 61X cylinder stroker motor pkg.
Tim Judge is obviously one of the really smart guys as well, I just have had no personal experience.
Chuckie has obviously got something figured out as well, just again-no personal experience on my behalf.
Brian at ThrustInnovations also builds a mean stroker motor setup that I have experienced and loved.

Now that you are totally confused-find someone that will let u ride their ski with a bad azz motor and decide if that is what u want and if it is what u want-copy every last lil detail !!!

Oh yeah, alot of builders like to start you out on the 2nd to last or even the very last bore-ask what the smallest bore poss is and start small.
Don't let your ego overload your azz like alot of us have!!! Having the max cc's out of your motor right off the bat is only cool for the 1st season
and then it is plain stupid and expensive!!!
