WetPipe, Head, Aluminum flywheel. What makes the next biggest difference in low end hit? (without losing much reliability). :bananalama:

So far my ignition has been bullet proof, except for the switch. Best gain so far, besides the FP. Next for me will probably be porting and filling in part of the case floor, but probably not till much later.

I'd say carbs and some reeds. Might want to use stock true bore carbs and carbon reed petals for stock reeds. That is the cheapest & easiest way to go.
I might be selling a set of Tim Z force modded stock carbs. Pm me if interested.

Port that cylinder to get that monster pull. After that you MUST increase fuel delivery.

MSD is reliable but you have to keep an eye on the wires. They tend to loosen up in salt. I thought it was going bad with intermiting spark but after a closer look all i needed was a crimp tool and silicone.

I don't think I want carbon reeds.. don't they only last about a season. I ride about 3 seasons worth in one.

I may get those stock worked over carbs... pm me a price. My carbs are beat to sheeeot. I don't want to drink too much more gas. I'll be filling up every 20 minutes!

Ignition adds big gains huh???? I might look into that. Easy install? Does it make it hard to tune? What ignition did you put in?

Lot O good stuff here!!! The ignition is a Mitsubishi CDI 9R. It comes preset with 9 different curves. I'm running the limited one, curve 7, right now. Total loss might be better, but honestly Korn, I ride like you do. I don't want any issues keeping me off the water. After market reeds can make an improvement over stock, but what about water injestion? I'm still a little leery about how much we use our skis also. I agree the Novi modded stock carbs for $525, to $625 with manifold, but I'm also looking at fuel consumption in the surf. IceRocket1286 how much did your fuel consumption go up?

I was thinking about total loss. I allready have an aluminum flywheel, how much does total loss add to that.?.?.? Why is total loss bad in the salt?

I am thinking next rebuild will get some mild porting.

I may get the carbs done up somewhere, maybe GroupK maybe Novi modded...I am curious about the fuel consumption.

I don't think I will get the ignition. It is a lot of $ for a part with no warranty that can crap out at any time.

im going to a advent t3 with a tbm... is this is a total loss??? i think this would be reliable.is a msd total loss that much better than my set up?

SXR-FOREVER

Finally Flippin
I have head, pipe, reeds, spacers, and an advent on mine. Want to port and/or flywheel... just not sure which.

Anyone know if I still need the flywheel for 04+ SXR's even if I am running the advent? or could an MSD Charging (or another) one out of a bigpin 750 work? (dont want to run total loss...)

Not that I know anything about SXR's but on the Hot Products Japan website they show V Force 3's listed!! I am curious to see how well your guy's skis run because I want an 800 engine for my X2.

You know what I will tell you..... take some weight off that pig.

Light weight Hood, light weight battery, light weight waterbox, run less fuel.

Save about 30lbs.

Then your boat will come out of the water higher, go faster, and handle far better (especially for freeride/freestyle)

The more motor work you do, the less time you will be on the water, and the more time you will be wrenching.

Dont forget Trinity will also sell a upper, or lower as well..... But I honestly think a complete Trinity hull is the only way to Make a SXR into a all out freestyle machine.

Well, I run novis 48's along with the complete RD M16 intake system and reeds. I am changing back to stock reeds because they have worked better. My skis fuel consumption is off the wall, but it is a full-blown limited and I wouldnt expect it to be good. My limited sxr compared to my stock sxr lasts in and around the neighborhood of half as long on a tank of gas. If I ride laps around the course full speed on my limited it just sucks fuel. Nothing you would want for rec-riding.

Is that what you are running on your limited?
I heard the stock cages with aftermarket reeds are as good/or better than vforce 2's.

Right now I am running RD's M16 setup, but I am changing back to stock reeds because they have worked better. A bunch of superstocks and limiteds around town are running them and work great. The m16s dont hurt at all, but they dont help either.
