motor mounts??

so i keep destroying my motor mounts..they seem to only last 3 or 4 surf rides...ive broken a front and a rear at the same time and now i just killed a front by itself...im pretty sure its from landing upside down and they just pull out :banghead: ..im running keepers...what else can i do??..is the only aftermarket company monkey grips???...are they any good??..

They are stiffer than OEM. I just bought a set of Monkey grips and they look strong. I havent tried them yet though, but have heard good things about them.

does everyone else break these that much??...granted the ones i replaced them with wernt brand new so mabye thats why????

I've neve broke a OEM motor mount on a Yamaha twin, but I dont ride the surf very much(gonna change that now that i live closer) , but still they take a lot of abuse. My 90 square is serial number #113 and its OEM motor mounts are the original ones and still good!
I just got the new ones(Monkey grips) for my new roundnose project.

yea wammer mounts are monkey gripes. parker yamaha has a pretty good price on them.

before you go and buy wammer or monkey grip mounts think about oem, the stronger ones are infact as they say stronger. BUT they are harder and make the carbs vibrate more and causes carboration problems in some skis. Well thats just my 2 cents.

Donald broke all 4 mounts at Daytona doing rolls & flips. Paul at LPW recommends using Monkey Grips and he replaces them each year to be on the safe side.

They will only vibrate more for a little while, its likethey break in, Wammer and Monkey Grips are pretty much the same, but Wammers are black. Just be carefull he doesnt kill ya on frt.. I went Monkey grip green cuz of the added cost of Wammers.

Doing rolls and flips will not break motor mounts, comming up short on rolls and flips will.

I am still running 4 stock motor mounts in my 94 FX1! They have survived a few stort landings, but as long as you land the flip or roll the mounts should not break.

Also; avoid hitting bottom, that too will break mounts.
