Motor mounts?

It won't let me choose USA on those or they would have already been ordered about 1 minute ago! I tried right away...I like those.

I was just going to say I saw guys running 6 OEM mounts before. On a side note how did the rhass fail? I had a set fail they replaced them no bs was given and it was a newer design then the ones I had

All 4 just fell apart....they had zero integrity for wave riding. It was a long time ago but when all 4 new fail together it leaves a bad memory.

I pitched them....I was scared to try them again.

I would think RRP knows what the heck is up and has them right!!??

Some hulls require some work to get couch mounts to work. Open the mounting holes up a bit, and shave a little off the bottom. I lawn darted a flip yesterday with couch mounts.
Rolls do tend to be the killer of mounts though.
I think some of the locals around here run monkey grip mounts

Breaking mounts happens......something has to give. but have you ever broke a bed plate with one??
I have been using Monkey Grips for years. Yes, they break! I consider mounts a sacraficial wear part.
I routinely change out my mounts, begining of the season, then again mid summer as part of routine maint.
If you ride hard, you kind of have to expect it. Best advice is keep several new ones as spares, check them at the end of every ride. Find a broken one? Change it right away!

I agree, side slapping hard from a failed roll is probably the worst, followed closely by pancaking a failed surf flip

OK 4 new monkeygrips on way from Amazon prime then I am getting 1 RRP and 1 OE from @JetManiac

I set up a test station I have to see any differences in behavior between the 3 with my own 2 eyes...

Then I am ordering a few more of whichever one seems best and I am running 6 of them forever....

That would have been a great selling point on the Krash RTR skis.....

I also thought I recalled someone running a “limiting strap” so to speak from the motor mount mounting bolt to the bed plate mounting bolt. Maybe someone could make a strap that wrapped around the back of a motor mount and went bolt to bolt on the mounts for side to side play.

That seems like it would prevent the carnage from a failed roll and the engine slamming into the side of the ski. I wish those straps were still available. It seems like a cheap functional option
