This is in my superjet with a 701. ADA head 35 cc. Freeride Riva pipe. pump fuel

motor tries to start up and it does start at idle some times but when I get it any throttle it dies. I did manage to start it by holding the throttle 1/2 open and feathering the throttle once it fired up. It did run for about 20 seconds but then died.
I have primed it, sprayed carb cleaner in the carb.
Took the carb apart to look for water/trash/ect. found nothing
I have a MSD CDI and swapped it out for a stock cdi.. same thing
changed out coils.. same thing...

could it be my reeds??? or could it be the pickup on the flywheel???
Help me before I get my gun....

Sounds like its starving for fuel. Do you have a primer? If so, can you pump it while its idling and get it to rev a little with throttle?
Did you note the condition of the carb diaphram.
You may already know this, but if you can add fuel and it runs but dies when you stop adding then you have a fuel delivery problem of some sort.
How many turns on your low speed adjuster?

i did prime it.
Is that how you got it to stay running for 20 seconds was to keep priming it? Did it stop running even though you kept pumping the primer?

If so: I've had a similar thing happen on our dirt bike. Ended up being a jet was clogged in the carb...

Not saying a word when Inspector Gadget can't get his ski running. That sucks, Mick.
Inspector Gadget. bwwaahahahahahaaa

OK, it's not really funny. cause he should have been riding this weekend instead of wrenching.

Was really a good hearted ribbing. That fool can fix and make crap out of more things than anyone I know. Maybe McGuyver would have been better.

OK I finally figured the problem with my ski. After changing cdi's, and coils.. I removed the cover off the stator/flywheel... Had a peek in to look at the stator. I see one screw that has backed out and a loose wire.
Then after 2 hours of trying to remove the flywheel bolt I gave up..
Made my own flywheel holding tool (Yes Timbo) Today at work. 5 mins later I had the bolt out.
Removed the flywheel and one of the coils inside had worked out and also the stator housing was loose.
How much is a new stator???
Does anyone have a good, and I mean like new good used one for sale??

With the trouble to get to this thing im not going to do the quick fix..

Ill post pics tonight...
