looking to swap a 701 in my sn. can i bolt a 701 top end on? or buy a complete motor? or find a base then a top end? down time isant really an issue. i have another ski to ride. this one just sits in my garage. new to yamahas, have always had kawis.

You can do a top end, you can do a complete motor 61x or 62t if you want. Only limiting factor would probably be if your motor now is a 650

Then you can do a top end swap to 701 ( cylinders, pistons, head) and it will bolt up to the 650 bottem end. This is my setup right now. You'll need some kind of ignition control to up or adjust your rev limit to take potential of the bigger cc's. You may get to a point where te 650 case will only flow so much air that it won't support bigger mods like big bores and stuff. At that point you would benefit switching to the 62t cases. Your crank is swappable between all of them (6m6, 61x, and 62t). It's just going to come down to how much power you want and what your happy with

Maybe tell us what you want to do with the ski and some others better known in this sport can make some suggestions to get you where you want/ need to be

You can swap your top end to a 61x top end but it will not run as well as a motor with 61x cases. 62t cases will bring the most power increase but will also be harder on gas than a 61x motor due to the dual carbs.

Leave the 650 complete, buy a 62t/62t motor, put the 61x cylinder on it. If you have to do a cylinder swap anyway, it's worth it. The 650 will be easier to sell local if it's drop in ready, and with the 62t/62t cylinder swap, you will get upgraded intake and electronics.

I would do it with a 760 actually, having the 44mm intake, but I'm not 100% sure the 61x bolts right onto the 760 case, so I don't want to miss lead you.

I would buy a complete running waveraider, put the 650 in that, keep the 701 / 760 and sell the wave raider for basically what you bought it for.

I got the motor in now. Just gotta figure out what I wanna do for an exhaust. I junked the other hull. thought about putting the 650 in the sit down ski but was lazy haha. And got tired of moving it around. Either way I Scored a running motor and a mint galvanized trailer for 500 bucks.

All they hype is the b pipe and probably for good reason. I run a protec which I've read that some people say it's similar to the b pipe but a little cheaper if you can find one. I've never ridden a b pipe,
But can tell you that my protect hits pretty good. Also have a stock exhaust in the garage if your looking for one...

I swapped the whole box over. How much for the stock exhaust? Assembly it's a stock 701 superjet exhaust? Maybe grab it just to use it till I find something else

Pm me your location or your zip and I can try to figure out some shipping. It's pretty heavy so if your far away, might not be worth it

61x fits on 760 cases, that's what in my boat now, makes much easier being that stock manifold is for 44's

Thank you. I had asked in another thread but did not see an answer. I'd like to go to a Yamaha in my X2. Most donor skis are 61x/61x, 62t/62t or 760. I believe, that for me, a 760 donor with a 61x cylinder swap would be better (because of the 44s over the 38s).
