Super Jet Mounting GPS

Hi guys,

recently I bought SuperJet 2015, I had one before, a lot of fun, I dont have to tell you. I am riding in the ocean and parking my jetski not in my house, so I worry about it.

Now I want to mount it and my question is, can I just mount it directly on battery, or there is some better ways ?

How do you plan on transmitting the info stored in the tracker?

"The recorded location data can be stored within thegps vehicle tracking devices , or it may be transmitted to a central location data base, or internet connected computer, using a cellular (GPRS or SMS), radio, or satellite modem embedded in the unit. "

I may be misunderstanding, but it doesn't seem to be a stand alone unit.

well, I am still in process to make it work, but I bought SIM card which is possible to insert inside this device, and from I understand, it can work in two modes - in sms mode, where it will send you coordinates, or online tracking, where there is needed some internet connection (2g/3g...) activated on sim card.

I misunderstood embedded in the unit. I thought you'd need another device to transmit signal. Not a bad setup. I'd considering trying to wire it out of sight to avoid detection from a thief.

Pretty neat device. This could be pretty handy. I just started looking at this device on Amazon, a little less expensive and looks like it does about the same.

Make sure and test what ever device you get.. I know withcellphone gps trackers like lost my droid you are lucky if it shows your phone in the correct neighborhood..

KMN make sure your device is waterproof. Guys, how I mount it in jetski, I just connect it to battery, no problem with impedance?

btw I just received manual for that GPS, I am in process to make it alive and work. Idea is to control GPS using SMS, so I send some SMS commands to it and it will activate and then I can track it

Where do you recommend to connect GPS power in jetski, it is ok to connect it directly to battery or there are some better ways ?
