They came on here with a new product release a couple years ago. They were assaulted with the usual barrage of negativity to be expected from this crowd and never came back. Risk of failing hull mounts rather than mounts was the biggest concern. I believe they had some test units out but not in the hands of anyone that we knew were testing them in the environment that we would be using them.

If they had of done some research and sent some out to riders that were known to go big and tear stuff up like Cold Fusion did, I think they would have had a much better shot. Personally I think they were to rigid but they may have a better market in the sitdown.

What's the consensus on the cold fusion mounts? I've never read all the threads. They're pricey.

I've been running couch mounts for 3 years in my Freak and its been flipped and flopped and no failure yet. I like CF stuff.

Monkey Grips for me, but I do not ride as much as I use to, but summer of 2011 I landed plenty of back flipsattemps (Double up boats) upside down, as in pancaking inverted. Shattered my nose piece, seperated my hood liner. These things did not fail.

Cold-Fusion Mounts are $58 vs OEM ~$50 per mount. These mounts not only look cool but hold up very well. Though there is not an advertised lifetime warrantee (that I know of) Carl has seemed to replace the few mounts that have broken over the years.

You can't go wrong running the Cold-Fusion mounts in my opinion. Theres virtually no risk and we know he's not going anywhere.

I ran they thread topic mounts for Alan Kroeper. Very cool guy. he tested them in sit downs. I tested them in my RN I ran they for a while on a lake breaking in my new SJ. They I took them to the surf and had issues with a few main mount bolts needed to be lock-tited not never- seized and they wiggled out. Then the bushings of his first batch failed and made alignment all weird. So I chose to replace them with my sponsor, Cold-Fusion's mounts. Haven't had a problem since. Alan has since changed the construction of his bushings and fixed the composition failure. So I would entirely rule them out of anything. I just know that the Cold-Fusion mounts are just as easy to install as a stock mount and man I have put some abuse on mine and they are holding up great so far.

Couch mounts are the best way to go if you want to avoid the added vibrations with the stiff mounts like monkey grip and CF... Can buy new couch mounts on the web for $43 each... Only problem is that they are a bit taller and you have to drill the holes and set them back a few mm..... However, some hulls, like the BOB come with more than enough height to use these without any modification.. i felt a huge difference in vibration reduction when going from CF mounts and coupler damper to couch mounts and stock kawi damper

The CF mounts take a few hours to break in. After that, the vibration is no worse than stock.

Agree, but...
I guess it depends on your hull as far as "fit". I've been using gp800 mounts from jetmaniac in 2 2004 sj's for years. I've broken only one. Yes. They are a bit taller, and I was a bit worried about shimming, but I'm as pleased as can be. A little pressure in the right direction as they are tightened down, and pitching all of the shims (in my case), made it all good. I'll continue to use them until they are no longer available.
I remember these mounts from an old thread. Have no experience with them. Don't know anyone who has them. But that doesn't make them bad.
Price drove me away from OEM mounts and pushed me toward something better and less expensive.
