Other Movie review thread

Haven't watched that movie, but Sharlto Copley is awesome. I've liked everything he's done that I've seen - District 9, Europa Report, Elysium.

Go watch Nebraska, btw. Just saying.

Agreed, Sharlto Copley is an awesome actor. I actually think the guy is a little mental, because he plays one incredibly.

OK, so over the last few weeks, I have seen:

Captain America - awesome. I thought it was the best Marvel Movie other than maybe the original IM or Avengers. More like a spy movie than a Marvel movie, really.

Noah - hated it. Special effects weren't that good, tried to turn noah into some kind of hero/anti hero nut job action movie.

Sabotage - Wasn't expecting much, but actually liked the movie.

Divergence - didn't read the book, so really had no idea what to expect. Was ok. Nothing to write home about.

Pompeii was decent, so was The Monuments Men.
Grudge match was hilarious.
Homefront was a good watch and on par with most of Statham's movies.
The Jury's still out on Out of the Furnace. Great actors, great roles, (especially Woody Harrelson). Maybe just not my type of movie.

I have to be in the right mood for certain movies. Movies I have hated on a friday or saturday night, I have really enjoyed on a lazy Sunday morning.

Nebraska was great...monument was really diff and cool....the Lego movie kicks arse!

I'll check out Pompeii and Homefront soon I bet.

I thought Out of the Furnace was one of the worst movies I ever fast forwarded through.

Saw:
Spiderman 2 - I thought it was really good. It has a lot of twists and turns and there are a lot of bad guys, but overall thought it was well done.

Xmen, Days of Futures Past. Thought it was AWESOME! Really neat how they tied all of the movies together.

Out of the Furnace - I actually liked. Agree with OCD, though Woody Harrilson made the movie.

Pompeli - Great special effects, but kind of thought the movie was ehh.

Godzilla - this one was tough. I thought the story was OK, but too drawn out. Loved Cranston, but wasn't happy with how they handled his character. Thought his son was boring as he!!. As for the big green lizard........ there's only about 10 minutes of him in the entire movie and for me, the special effects weren't that great. I thought the 'bad' monsters were kind of dumb looking, too. I grew up watching the cartoons and the old Toho movies and IMO, this movie was no better than one from the 60s with better, but not great, special effects.

Quick rant - I have never been one to worry too much about movie reviews, but sometimes it amazes me how certain movies get such good marks on Rotten Tomatoes and others don't. I wonder if some of the critics go into movies like Spiderman expecting to see the Hurt Locker.

I just watched an extended, behind the scenes video of "A million ways to die in the west" and seriously laughed my ass off. I think It's gonna be a good one.

Finally got to see Wolf of wall street. It was a bit long but I really did like it.
Leo killed it. The end where he'd been sober for awhile than cuts open the couch, gets outs his huge stash of blow and snorts a huge rail was epic.

I thought the Wolf Of Wall Street was pretty weak. To me, it was just "here's a super rich guy with no morals, ethics or self control."

You'd think that a guy who refused to drink with his boss at the beginning of the film would have some reservations, hesitations or regrets later on. I don't even know why that part (not drinking with the boss) was even in the film.

"Nope, not going to have a martini in this posh restaurant, but smoking a little crack behind this diner is all good."

Have you ever had a 7-year-old tell you about his dream bed room with a hamburger stand, a zip line, a shark tank and a motocross track in it? In WOWS, Scorsese essentially brings to life what a 15-year-old would describe his perfect life after playing a few hours of Grand Theft Auto and surfing porn on the internet.

I don't understand why it became a movie or why any actor (other than poor a$$ unknowns I guess) would want to be a part of it. I'll never see it.
