I am just putting in my enhancer and had a couple questions, in the instructions I got from MSD it says do not connect the pink and white/red wires on the enhancer but in the diagram it shows them connected, what gives? And second is on the rev limiter dial, where should I set it (I am running an ADA head 37cc domes and a type 4 dry)?

Open the rev limiter all the way up and let your finger be your rev limiter.

Eh, don't know, but plenty people do that. If you had a tach, you'd want to set for 7500-8500 RPM with that pipe (guessing), but without a tach that's a bit difficult.

As for hooking up the Enhancer....I seem to remember that from the one I ran. I even remember that I almost blew up my waterbox with it connected the wrong way. I just don't remember what the wrong way is.

rev limiter screw all the way to the right, careully, it wil break if you use very much force. It and the hold down screw must use care to tighten.

pink wire? hmmm
is that the overheat sensor?

I just plugged up matching colors and it worked. on all 3 or 4 of them that I have installed.

So open the rev limiter all the way huh? No tach Ill just have to keep in mind that she's gonna rev to the moon if I let it. Yeah the pink wire is the overheat, not sure what the white/red is...maybe Ill give MSD a call.

White/Red should be the signal from the pulser coil, if I am not mistaken...(I could be). If so, you need that connected.

Fake edit: I just checked a stator, and the white/red wire connects to the pulser coil. This is what triggers a firing of the plugs.

over revving has not ever really been an issue to me.

obviously, dont pin the throttle on the trailer or anything asinine like that.

otherwise, its not really in issue.

It could be with your dry pipe though, BUT without a tach, you wont be able to set it, and even then, you would want to set it 7200+ probably, so just open it up and be aware of it when the pump isnt loaded.

I believe that wire is for the "holeshot" option, you can pin the throttle at the line and if you have this hooked up with MSD's switch heald in the ski only revs so far, once off the line you let go of the msd button and you have all the rpm's you want.

The enhancer doesn't have the Holeshot option, I don't think.
I believe that came on the Total Loss systems only.

Yeah the pink wire is the hole shot one, the white/red looks like it needs to be hooked up. I just want to unplug my overheat sensor and tape the conections up in the box and silicone the grommet shut correct?

Those directions are wrong (according to MSD) it sates in installation section number 5 that the pink and white are not to be hooked up. They faxed me the correct set of directions and that was not in there.

The one he sent me is the exact same except for number 5...

The one from the website:
5. Connect the color coded wires of the MSD Enhancer to the factory wiring
harness. You will not be connecting the PINK wire or the WHITE/RED wire to
the Enhancer. Refer to Figure 1 for wiring. Make sure all connections are tight
and fully seated.

The one directly from MSD:
5. Connect the color coded wires of the MSD Enhancer to the factory wiring
harness. Refer to Figure 1 for wiring. Make sure all connections are tight
and fully seated. The PINK wire coming from the Enhancer is for the Holeshot/Overtemp feature and is explained in following sections.

I would scan them in but I dont have a scanner...

So from what I understand about the holeshot feature it pretty much just puts your ski in limp mode (tricks it into thinking its overheating) then once the flag drops you release the button and launch? Kinda like an electronic throttle stop on a dragster?

So just to clear up some confusion on my part.

The White wire with the female end from the enhancer doesn't get hooked up.
The White/Red wire from stator doesn't get hooked up.
The Pink wire from enhancer doesn't get hooked up.
The overheat sensor gets thrown out.

Right ?
