MSD enhancer

you are probably going to get some mixed reviews on this, but my experience has been a positive one. I will choose the enhancer any day over a stock cdi. the adjustable rev limiter is worth the money, i also see it posted a lot that thats the biggest difference. I tend to disagree with that, doing 61x and msd testing back to back there is more there then the rev limiter.

I also quite enjoy the extra little jolt the enhancer gives. One thing to be careful though, never turn the motor over without the spark plugs or without grounding the spark wires to the engine block. People have burned out the enhancers doing this.

i think that is common knowledge for all CDI's and coils.

once i get mine and get some ride time ill add my review! i rode a couple skis with an enhancer, and they seemed to have a bit more pop. im excited to get one! at the end of the day its nothing like the torque from a TL though.

i've had a bunch of them and never had one go bad. my buddies have had them go bad on them. adjustable rev limit is a joke. crank it all the way up or cut it out of the stock CDI. Nick Bannano of carbon tech thinks the MSD gives a bit more bottom end than the mod stock CDI. things have to make a big difference before i notice anything. a grunion of anything , is just a grunion! insignificant differences are just that

My last one I bought off ebay untested for pennies compared to new. I ran it for 4 years or so and far as I know it's still working.

Mine's still working since '96, and it's been on two different stock 61X motors. Seems to start faster & easier than the stock CDI. Bought this one back in '96 for the FX-1 primarily because of hitting the rev limiter after the prop swap. It also seemed to add a little more on the bottom or initial hit on my stock motor.
Just bought another one used for the SJ for the same reason. I never had any issues with the original MSD enhancer I have been using.

I prefer the enhancer over a stock cdi but they are hit or miss on Longevity. Some run for years I've heard and my last one took a dump after a year and a half

I bought one bad out of the box recently. MSD wouldn't help me much rather than saying "send it in, and if we determine it's bad, we'll send you a new one." Yeah, OK! I've had too many stories of "lost in the mail" and reviews stating nothing wrong with thier product to fall for this. I'll take the $300 paper weight.

That being said, i had my first one last 6 years in salt water riding about 6 hours a weekend. I am trying another one.... FINGERs Crossed!!!!!

Anybody know if i should have one ground bullet connector left over(hanging with no mate), along with the pink wire when everything is hooked up right?
