MSD ignition enhancer wiring advice needed.

Hey guys , wiring up an msd ignition , and not 100% sure about a couple of connections... 1. does the brown wire on msd connect to the brown/white striped old wire and 2. does the white wire on msd connect to the white/red striped old wire... ? Also would there be any need to smear on some petroleum jelly (or some other gel) to help seal up the old electric box when finished... ? Thanks

Get a new gasket too. Make sure to adjust the timing screw right. Nice little bump these little boxes do

Marine grease or dielectric works to help seal gasket if spread on both sides. Comes Apart easy later for mainstnce

brown/white stator wire to brown on msd
connect white from start/stop to white on msd first
then connect white/red to msd white on 61x stators
jumper white wire that is female/female connector, on white/red from stator is used on late models with 62t stators then to msd white

I have adjusted the timing screw to the max , what was the factory rev limit setting , on the old cdi unit... ?

stock msd setting is about 8000 rpm
i set them closer to 9000 rpm
turn screw to the right to max out then back 1/8 turn
then lock jam nut down lightly

Dont tighten the lock nut to tight, you will strip out the adjuster.

it does not, there is a red and black together coming out of the grommet.
