I have set up alot of MSD t/l systems for people and knock on wood-they are all still running. The absolute 100% key is the setup!!! IF you solder and seal EVERY connection and keep everything from corroding, you will be fine for as long as you want the system to operate. As Superjetjim said, if you think you have it perfect-take it to the salt and see how it works! If it works in saltwater, it will last forever!

Exactly...and run a fuse. Hooking up the battery backwards, is the only way I've killed a brain after about 5 years of use with one of those years running TL on two ski's. Oh an I'm running the single channel brains which many have said are less reliable than the newer dual channel setups and both brains were bought used.

I forgot!
I am going on season four with my dual channel. The brain is a replacement and has been flawless so far. The other components like coils and pick ups are older and have held up well over time. My flywheel teeth are showing wear in the two spots the Bendix engages. I had a dream my ski would not shut off but I was hitting the start button. This means something I am sure. I also pull the fuse to the brain when charging.

both my skis have the single channel setup. 26 degrees initial advance pull timing at 4k and 3 degrees per 1k rpm retard.this will be my second season.i bpught them both gently used.i have found my SN doesnt like to spark unless i have the AGM battery really really charged up.we'll see for this season.didnt know the single chanel wasnt as reliable as the new style.

take time and thoroughly fasten all electrical connectors securley.GOOD GROUND.gotta have a good ground. i use a water resistant fuse receptical as my "key"

does the msd TL dual channel digital last long or does it go bad in a couple of seasons like the enhancer does?

Why would an enhancer go bad if its in the ebox? If the enhancer gets wet, then wouldn't the whole ebox go bad? I installed an enhancer on my ski a week ago and I hope to last long time :)...

D.

there are several components in the ebox.just because it gets wet inside doesnt mean all the components will go bad.the guys that have run enhancers before probably had bad luck with em.i see you're in FL.salt wreaks havok on everything.especially electrical.
