MSD Assistance needed

If somebody is willing to help Tom, I will assist also.. He needs somebody to correctly set the trigger gap and timing.. The system was running, so all the hard work is done but needs some fine tuning. He will pay $$$$!

Thanks,
Randy

My first question was definately going to be trigger gap... You've confirmed that the brain is not the problem. If everything ran great before you installed the total loss then that leaves the coil, starter solenoid (only if it won't start), the start/stop switch, the pickup, and the pickup/trigger gap.

Before you go too much further, make sure your "ground wire" is connected directly to the BATTERY!

The thing turns over so it cant be the solenoid, im not getting spark. my grounds are good. one for the battery. one for the system. also when it cranks the LED light on the brain box doesnt light up like it is suppost to. makes me thing my gap is too great, but i didnt change it at all from the first time it was running. though when you first turn on the MSD it flickers like its getting juice. im to the point i dont even wanna look at the damn thing!!!!

Although I know you're going to hate it...I would seriously consider pulling the flywheel off and verify three quick things. First, check to make sure that the trigger plate didn't rattle loose. Second, make sure the wires haven't been chaffed by the flywheel. If those check out, double check your gaps.

I rode my ski for a whole day when I first installed it. Afterwards it started running like crap. Turns out the trigger plate had completely rattled out of the mounts.

Is there nobody near MI?

There has to be somebody that can help him? He is willing to drive 2-3 hours to your location, bring beer & cash.. it's not that hard, he just doesn't have the tools necessary.. I will offer all assistance pertaining to to Polaris specifics?
Thanks,
Randy

Hey Randy,
I'm planning on hooking up with him this week some time. If I run into anything out of the ordinary, I'll give you a call. I'm sure I'll need the timing curve from you.
