MSD total loss issues

Installed new pickups and and ground down the lock nuts that were pushed through the plate. That gave me almost .030". Clearance is all good now. .056". Changed out Bendix with a good used one I had and no rubbing on starter gear anymore. The new bendix was almost .090" longer than the used oem Bendix at the front clutch gear. Guess that's the difference between oem and aftermarket junk. Lessons learned. Gonna try and get some lake testing in today

I don't know what is causing the op's pick up/ flw magnet clearance problem. I do, however, recommend he fasten his pick up wires. They are made of cheap, coarsely stranded copper and just love to fracture from vibration- no, I did not get this from a book or the web, just learned the hard way. Pic shows my preferred way....
