I'd agree with both parts as far as maintenance goes. You will need to be accurate with your support and securing of the PFP. And, it's not a install and forget it piece either. It will require a bit of tuning, both engine and pump. I've had my chamber pop loose multiple times already.
I've had plenty of "growing pains" with TL as well. You will save lots of headache and heart ache with buying a new TL system. A previously run TL system will only function as well as it's original builder/installer if you're gonna try and use they're setup. I've used the old analog TL's, the single pickup digitals and the dual pickup digitals and all three work fine...as long as your are particular about the connections (solder or use Deutsh connects) and the grounding.
