MSD Total Loss - Should I purchase one?

Robbie, do you use the switch to switch between two profiles? I wonder if you could setup one with a easy going curve, and then have a second one that just rips. Not sure how you'd go about doing all that but sounds cool. Do you have your transfer cable sticking out of the box so you can update it easily? Or do you have to remove the ebox/cover and get to the cable?

I haven't bothered with a switch, just have it on the maximum safe timing I can run.

If you had say a real long stretch to the place u ski that you had to idle along then a switch could be ideal as you could run say 20 deg timing at the bottom then switch to 30 once your ready to play.

Yea is a bit of a pain involving cover but once I'm happy with the curve I won't touch it again.....

It's dead easy to use the software and aslong as you don't run to much advance, or hold the timing on to long you can have a play with it pretty safely.

Also if your not sure send you map to Chris at ATP and he will check it before you try it.

Again,

Haven't ran it yet but here are the two curves ATP set me up with. I've been told its a little conservative but I'm okay with that lol.

Rotary switch to bounce between them both while riding. At the very least if I ever want to test a curve I keep my existing one as well. I have the lead secured in my ATP Billet housing, but if I was running a stock ebox I'd have the lead right by the fuse access.

Yeah, good call. I've got an empty ebox with a brand new kawasaki coil and starter relay just itching for this. Would be fun just to learn more about timing and tuning, and I like the graphical interface and then updating the firmware. I'm pretty familiar with that with a lot of work with computers and it seems like it just fits.

That's the same as I tried last weekend. Only thing I have done is bring it on a bit more agressively.

Started at 15 deg then straight to 30 at 1500rpm then left the rest alone.

Cant wait to try it. I went out nearly a turn on the highs when I first tried so upjetting it a tad aswel.

Oh great idea about the fuse access point. Hmm

What's your switch look like?

I figured I would add that those looking to replace the atp pickup plates specify whether you are running a superlightened flywheel or the regular atp flywheel. The pickup plates are different thicknesses. I went from a superlightened to a regular and could not get the flywheel magnets close enough to the pickups. So they sent me an adaptor plate to make it the correct thickness. Not a big deal but just an fyi

On a side note I have run both the atp and Msd tl system on a 701, stock 44's, and a pro pipe. Both made big differences over enhancer. Atp seemed a little more user friendly, but I did feel a larger gain with the Msd in my opinion.
