Super Jet Msd

The rev limiter is not the issue. I was told they advance timing at mid range rpm between 6-7 degrees. If you spend not time in that area then you wouldn't have a problem. If you do AND you have a higher compression motor then you will have issues, like I did. I am not saying this is fact it is just what Harry at Group K and Jet Ski Solutions told me. I ride a lot of river and canals and just cruise around when I am not being a nut so I guess that's where my issues came from. The bad part for me was every one had me thinking that WOT was my issues so when i would cruise up the canal to a lake or down the river I would end up cruising around from bottom to 3/4 throttle a lot.

I wasn't really concerned about the rev limit, I was curious as to if/how much the advanced curve effects reliability..But looks like in your case it does..

It would seem that it all depends on style. My problem is I ride my ski hard as hell when I'm riding my way. But some times I do just cruise around with less aggressive people. Hell I can't act like its not sweet to cruise through peoples back yards in West Palm Beach in the canals I guess.

First. What all mods are done to your ski?

Unless there is something screwy with your enhancer that is not going to be it. Post pics of your pistons after the top end has let go.

You have gotten advice from 2 companies. Of which only 1 would I trust.

I don't have any pics or any old pistons left. The damage has been mostly to the skirts from what I remember with some to the crowns as well. It would always kind of appear to be a lean condition but who the hell knows. 40:1 is the leanest its ever ran. I've been wondering if the crank bearing being on its way out was part of the issue.

maybe have a different shop look it over. theres a reason it keeps going. any parts not changed between failures are possible problem areas.
