Yeah, but water still gets turned up back there even with the coupler cover on.

I highly doubt as much if any. Plus a little splash of water dosen't hurt anything, but full submersion is bad. At least with it turned backwards you have that much longer until the whole carb setup ingests water if the ski is going down nose first.

With it the other way, my carbs would pick up way to much water when i did 50/50s . the air inlet is right infront of the carbs...
