my blasters cooling system (single cooling) got clogged with some sand, and it overheated just a little bit, so I pulled off the pump cleared thewater in line. but I was not satisfied so i pulled off a pisser line and connected it to a hoseand ran some water through it the system pressurized and the water wasnt coming out the exhaust or the water in line.
so I pulled the head figuring it would be full with sand, but was pretty clear, has anyone heard of the exhaust manifold's getting clogged with sand (oem exhaust).
should I pull off my exhasut next/?

Try reverse flushing it and maybe compressed air - Happens to me all the time riding beach breaks.
I've gone so shallow I've sucked up dead fish, sneakers in my pump...lol
Pay close attention to any 90 degree fittings

yah I constantly check it but i wasnt the one riding when it happened luckliy I dont think it got too hot before they noticed.
good lesson in always riding your own ski before letting someone else- every time

I reasembled the motor bay and waiting to reassmeble the pump until the hooker 9/15 I ordered from jetmaniac comes in; so I will no saturday I think I blew out the clog but wont know till saturday

just run strainers

They are more trouble than they are worth.
The screens fills up with small crap that normally your system will be able to pass thru and then restricts water so you'll be pulling the screen all the time.
Eventually you are gonna lunch the o ring, not put the cap on right or have it blow off from pressure and be rewarded with a smoking bilge full of water.
Just pay attention to your "beaching" habits, where you ride ( if birds are walking on water it's not a good place to ride lol) and lift the a$$ end up and down a few times in deeper water before you take off - it really is that simple

cool good to know
I just got spoiled in arizona I never beach my skis I always put them on stands because the lakes change waterlevel too much for beaching, but here in florida I'm lazy and drive them right up the sand

You should be able to find it pretty quick by blowing through the lines at strategic places. I would be surprised if it is just sand. Around here at least it takes a shell or something bigger than sand to clog things up.

found the through hull connection on the very back was off I think it had a clog that i since blew out with air/water. clog causes hose to come loose etc.....

Its just a matter of opinion .. I only empty mine 2 times a season and thats just to inspect them ,the Key is to use the correct size screen , The correct size will pass all the fine sand all day long and catch the zebra mussles '' long and skinny shells '' small stones and anything that wont pass through the 90"s or the b-pipe . my filters have never been full yet and all i ever do is beach my ski . Im sold on them . I have dual cooling and run dual strainers FWIW while every body else is pulling maintenance on the beach with a clogged line .... Im rippin !

I think that's why a reverse flow flushing is what everyone among my friends do. Instead of just pushing through the system you blow it right back out the way it came. Plus I found out that using the stock flush port on stock exhaust doesnt push enough water through the system for me. Most of it goes right out of the back of the ski and not through the system.
