I got killer deal on a 94 701cc WaveRaider & big double Triton alum trailer off Craigslist locally. Of course the ad stated "Super fast jetski! Does 70mph!" :burnout:
Engine was put together by Jetworks in SC and has 67 (or maybe 6.7?) hours on it according to the TinyTach. It had a Twist non-girdled head, B pipe W/ WaveRaider kidney shaped chamber, and dual 44mm blackjack carbs on a BCW intake, Boysen dual stage reeds & reed stuffers with K/N flame arresters. I already pulled out the reed stuffers. I have not pulled the pump yet, but it also has a skat impeller, toploader grate, Riva rideplate, and an extended turn nozzle.
It never happens, but I feel like I really scored. The cylinders still have the cross hatch in them and the crank turns as smooth as silk. Also, the trailer is awesome!
Since the carbs are a mother to pull to rejet, I'd thought I see if anybody else is running them before I just throw it in and see what happens. I know they are not the greatest carbs for freestyle, but I'm going to give them a shot.
Currently, they have a 110 mains and 130 pilots. I think it would have been jetted fater for the heavier ski. Should I jet down or maybe I can make the adjustments in the screws?
