My first custom ski

I didn't build the ski but I tore it down and cleaned it as I put it back together. I am not too good at taking pictures. I am so stoked this is my first custom ski. My last ski was just a limited ski. This one is a little different. I bought it last october off of another member here. It has been through a few people here. Anyhow it didn't change the fact that I was tearing it down to started going back together slowly.

Here is a list of mods and a few pictures.

Well I need help again. It ran for about 10 minutes then blew the exhaust coupler off. I put it back on and I guess from the oily exhaust the thing would pop off every 5 minutes or so.

I was kinda disapointed I thought going from a 701 to 850 it would yield some impressive pull. I was wrong. The ski doesn't have a midrange. My torque curve is a verticle. Once you hit the pipe about 3000 RPM the ski jumps out of the water and you have to get off of the gas then you do it again. It is like a noob trying to ride a ski I was all over the place. I had no throtle control.

Is there a special way to adjust the water going to the pipe? Like carbs or just start turning screws untill I get a good feel. The pipe never got above maybe 100 degrees. It was nowhere close to water sizzling on it.

And what about a prop? Is that prop with the nozzle and cone too small. Do you need to use a taller prop when you add more power? So that it moves more water. It seems like the ski would rev up super quick. Not cavatate just rev up quick but the ski didn't pull so hard after the first jump out of the water. Could that be the water to the pipe also?
