Won't be doing the rails this year. And I'm gonna do a super quick ghetto job on the rest for now lol. Not lime there's much riding left. I'll strip it down again and paint and turf this winter.
U can do the padding and turf in a single day if ur organized. Make ur templates approximate with plenty of overage and then u can trim it precise. It does suck compared to turning a wrench since turf is so inexact, but just go at it with a chill mindset. Seriously not that hard if u have a heat gun or hair dryer and plenty of sharp knife blades. The ski is too good looking to ghetto up the turf. Nice job from start to finish amigo!

Ya I agree however its definitely nicer in pics than in person lol. Needs some bodywork time and Im painting it Synergy Green Metallic this winter so I wont want the lime green turf Im installing now, so either way the turf will be removed this winter :p

Quick Update: After a long night and getting to bed at around 3am I finally finished the ski less turf. Absolutely everything is installed, routed and secured. After 6 months of tear down, rebuild, making a complete custom ebox, and this insanely rushed assembly I installed the battery last night and only good news so far. The new @JetManiac starter finally saw some action and cranked over the motor last night. Results: The MSD ignition is working like champ as dictated by the 1 inch arch jumping from the plug wire to the head... crazy awesome (little better than the faint spark I typically see on stock CDI's). Then I busted out the compression tester..... drum roll please....................... 195psi in both cylinders :) Little higher than I planned but it'll do :)

Today we are mixing up some fuel (partial 110 octane thanks to 195 psi of awesome) and attempting to get her to purr for the very first time! SOOOOOOO excited to be at this point finally.... I will be heading to Sortie at Lake City, MN tomorrow so my next update will hopefully be a ride update with pics and videos!

Turf turned out pretty good for rushing it lol. Few spots I wish were better but it's coming off in a few months anyway. Rode it quite a few times in the past few weeks. Attempted a few backflips and failed lol. Attached a picture of my ski completing a backflip courtesy of of someone who is used to back flipping lol. Absolutely love the hull and handling. Engine still needs some tuning and got hit by another ski last weekend and my pole snapped in half so I gotta fix that. uploadfromtaptalk1441395645749.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1441395658258.jpg

sounds like you gave it a proper break in. Sure turned out great. Was hoping to make this year my first sortie But my ski wasn't in running order. I should have just brought my boat just to go . After seeing all the pictures and videos there's no way I'm missing it next year

Ya, @jordanh, Sortie is amazing.... And it's getting bigger and better every year. Hopefully we'll see you there next year! :)
Yeah if all goes well I'll have something a bit more capable than my 650 by that time. are you guys able to get away with riding the river? I don't understand how a ski is any different than a boat, but the old rumor is They cracked down on that many years ago when AC was testing skis on the river. Never personally tried to push that rumor tho.

It's 150ft from shore, so some spots on the Mississippi are ok... maybe depends on how much of a dick the DNR in that area want to be.
But Boats fall into that category, or do they just look the other way on that? I had friends that use to wakeboard he stretch from the Swenson house to 3rd street launch in high school.

Not sure what you are referring too, we ride the river every week with no issues.
