My Foothold Drama

Ok so i started the cutting today and everything went well until i did the right side. After I cut the right side and popped out the glass I notice it looked like the foam had pulled away from the top and outside. Almost like its shrank about 1" from the top and outside only. I took pictures then started digging all the foam out. When I got down to the exhaust tube it started to get wet. Its not saturated but in the foam around the tube its wet. It was not wet on the left side at all. And the right side isnt soaked just the parts touching the exhaust tube. What do I do now? Also Im mounting the foothold 10.5" from the front of the tray(dash removed) and the pipe is obviously hitting. So after I cut up my foothold can i mount it to the ski and lay the glass over the pipe? Or put some tinfoil over the pipe? Thanks for the advice.

Rite of passage for every Superjet owner out there, the dreaded refoam.
Do a search on refoaming here, you'll find plenty of info.
I believe it's in the tech faq, too.

For your foothold, you'd cut the foothold to where the exhaust tube fits, then glass over the hole.

Welcome to watercrafts... no matter how religious you are about keeping everything perfect, you'll always find something wrong if you dig deep enough. It's worth it though.

before i refoam it should i install a trim tube? And when I do refoam it what foam should I use? I want to use the 2part foam, should i use ping pong balls with it? Whats the best 2part foam to use and where can i get it?

seems like all stock SJs are waterlogged
that is one thing the Kawis are better at from my experience
my 750 was dry as the desert, my SN was a swamp
if you have water as high up as the exhaust tube
it only gets wetter the further down you go.

hard to say whats right to do. i did my sn 10 years or so ago.i had to i put my foot through the tray!!
its water loged again i gave up and just drilled 2 drain plugs in the back and drain the ski when i am done.its crys for like 2 days.never weighted this ski. dont feel to heavy. the next one i am doing foam only in the top half of the hull. i have a rn i need to do but am putting it off as long as possable.

im thinking i could put that pink foam board in the bottom then maybe pour some 2 part over it to lock it in and give the bottom of the tray a nice flat surface. Then use 2 part in the sides so the foothold will be very sturdy. I might as well run drains.
