FX-1 My free fx1

I got this fx1 for free from a neighbor. I posted on here a while ago with questions about the handle pole. It got landed on by a float plane on the lake, which broke the handle pole and put some cracks in the fiberglass below the hood. I have a handle pole on its way and I'm gonna get ready to do some glass work and paint it soon, then rebuild the top end. For free I think it's pretty cool because these are pretty hard to find. Not sure how many are in Alaska. I'm pretty sure this ones bone stock as of now.

Sick. Rebuild and ride that beast. But seriously how the f do you land on a ski with a float plane and not destroy much much more than that. Insane deal.

I guess the lady just got lucky haha. Shouldn't take too much work and it'll be up and running again. I'll keep pump and motor stock this year, but mods to come for sure. I'll take some pics of the painting process from start to finish and keep you guys posted.

Nice find! Make sure to reinforce that damaged area nicely and you will have a nice ski. I have been trying to find a good deal on an FX-1 around here for years now...can't even find them period unless I want to drive or have it shipped.

I didn't realize what I had when I got it, I was just looking for a handle pole and stumbled across this forum in the process. Loads of useful info on this forum for sure. I rode an fx1 once when I was 13 years old. Difficult ski to ride but fun once you figure it out. I'm excited to ride the thing

so cool, i just ripped my whole fx1 a apart last month. i'm re-inforcing the hull as we speak. pretty easy. if you need help, let us know
