Super Jet My friend turned his 96 SJ by leaving it outside too long - whats it worth?

ok...so heres the deal..

I have a 2 friends

Friend #1 purchased the ski as a brand new leftover, then got his new wife pregnant and had to sell. He probably put a max of 10hrs in the half season he owned it. The dealer installed a Factory Pipe, different SS prop, air intakes and was lake use only. It sits around for 2yrs.

Friend #2 buys it, rode it MAYBE 3hrs total in the last 8yrs (was in Pharmacy school full time). He paid a marina $600 about a 1 1/2 yrs ago to put new batteries in it and rebuild carbs. Its been on a trailer outdoors ever since. Sun has faded everything.


I pull the tarp off -- see the obvious ---- mouse turds and nuts everywhere. I pull the engine hood off and more of the same including 3 running around. I told him to just let it go. Someone will want either as a project or parts... I am sure someone can rejuvinate it..but what is it worth approx?

He also has a Blaster..better condition and I dont think the mice got to it.

1500 at least for the sj
Blasters vary depending on buyer people get the from 200$ up to 2000 $ any thing over a 1000 is good If it has 2 carbs (newer blasters and good seat thats a plus)

I have a hard time thinking it is worth 1500-2000 based on mice in it, as well as, sitting in the sun. I know it is faded however, what shape is the glass in?

Ok, so here is the latest.

Please note that my original reason for posting was not to list it for sale, but to try and get a sense of what it MAY be worth. I fully realize that without pics, I cant expect anyone to give a better ballpark price than what I got - i.e. it could be worth $200 (ok 175) or 2000.00. I have asked him for pics and in the meantime he at the very least wants to clean it up a bit.

To all that PM'd me, I really cant answer anything as of right now. I recvd quite a few PM's, so please hold off on anymore.

As to why the long hiatus from posting?

My garage is full of "me" toys that suited me in my single years. I have them clean and up on the shelf waiting for "the day" that I can start using them again (primarilly due to shoulder surgeries and the obligation of spending quality family-time). I am hoping for that day to happen this late summer..if not, well, thats a path that I will have to cross soon enough.
