With the lowered bracket the pole doesnt follow the line of the hood anymore. this causes the pole to hit the front section of the hood before it hits the rubber bumper at the back of the hood. That makes any down force on the pole once it hits the hood attempt to break (stock pole), or bend (alum pole). It also makes it kinda difficult to reach the bar when doing a deep water re-boarding, but probably not too much worse than riser bars do.
