A couple weeks ago l bought @mightymighty2stroke glass SF.Thanks MM2Stroke! Pleasure doing business with you.l have tried for a few builds to have a ski l could ride both on flatwater and surf.Never really worked out so when this one came up for sale l got it! @McDog wanted it too,but l snatched it up! Ya never Shane, you know how l am with hulls, you still may own it one day.

So here is the plan.LB (key words right there broh's) My trusty xs735pv is going in it.Stock oem 144 pump running a 11/16 prop.Found an original carbon SF pole (thanks @Lone Octane) with a.....wait for it.....pole spring (@ScottS just for you sir!).CF turnplate with straight rrp bars.CF gas tank and XS waterbox. No trim and nothing fancy.

Brought it home and decided l just wanted to install all the parts l had and run it.Later this winter l will tear it down and make it sano.Everything has went well with assembly.l glued another insert back in where one had come off for the waterbox.Figured out with much help and advise that my 144 solas pump must be an early version because the the driveshaft was too long.Gonna pick up a oem pump today to fix that issue.

So here are some pics of the build so far

As always on a build you run into obstacles.Had some issues with driveshaft being too long.So l spent part of the day getting that mess straightened out.So back to aligning the pump which l will do this morning.l also removed the pole bolt to put a nylon washer on the inside of the pole bracket to able to snug the pole down just a bit more. The pole has just a bit too much bounce for me.

So if everything goes well today,l may be ready for a run to the lake. @hornedogg79 ya wanna go:)

Just getting back working on the ski, been sick as chit the last two weeks.

Two steps forward and three back..........:(

Almost had the pump ready to go and when l put the last couple of turns on the bolts to the wear ring and stripped. Thanks all who gave me some great advise but decided to redrill the brass inserts (there is only so much life you get out of brass inserts) and install 3/8 tnuts through the top. That is how most of the superfreaks were done. Also using hex head bolts because you can get to them around the water lines.

Today's barrel of fun is to reinstall the pump this time (déjà vu),then on to the midshaft and then engine alignment.Already installed the pole again,so that is done.

Good day today. Pump lined up really well and almost too quick.Worries me when things work that well during a build.l'll have to pull the pump stator and exit nozzle to silicone between the wear ring and pump shoe.l pushed the pump in as tight and still had a tiny space.
lnstalled the midshaft, tightened down the motor mounts.Engine installed and aligned, which took some time to do but it's as close as you can get it.Chamber, waterbox, exhaust all tightened down.Still have to do some wiring and hook up the fuel lines,so l should be done tomorrow.

Latter on after Daytona she will go for a full refit.l want to remove all the inserts including the fasteners for the gas tank,w/box,and batt box.l tried a different way to do the inserts from the havoc build. They come out a lot better.(sorry it's fuzzy)

I feel envy. Although I'll likely be on an SJ forever, this is my all-time favorite hull ( that I've ridden ) in the surf. So, don't expect me to let you ride it much when you visit Florida. lol.
Finally logged onto the X again just to see it.
BTW: I believe this vid is appropriate.....
