My new SN 701

So I just picked this ski up today as a back up for my RN.
Ski has
New paint
701x motor that was built by a tech at PJS, motor and other parts have only had 2 tanks of ride time on them.
Riva head 35cc non-griddle
Carbon tec reeds
Blackjack 44mm carb
Tau cett filter
Protec pipe
Msd ing.
skat-trac prop
Worxs extanded rideplate and intake grate
Umi pole spring, finger throttle and 0 degree bars

I am wondering what the ski is worth. I am in CA where getting skis is a little harder than other states. I would give the over all condition of the ski a 9 out of 10. Please let me know what you guys think.

Pretty clean looking ski. Stock pole and no B pipe, I'd say $1200 too. Some would pay more, some less. I too am curious as to what you gave.

1200you guys are right on. I am going to do a RN pole conversion, and we will see about the b-pipe. This protec pipe sounds really good, but we will see about the power.

that's a great deal for a CA ski. I know a few guys out your way that would have paid closer to 2k for something like that local to them in CA. Good deal nice ski. Those protec pipe make nice power too.

Thanks I am going to take it out tommorrow, so we will see how I like the pipe.

clean ski!

give us a report back on your impression of the pipe.

they make real good power in my opinon, they have a reputation for cracknig, but mine has been installed since the early 90s without a crack.

which leads me to beleive the problem with cracks is in the quality of the install job.

is there a bolt missing on the pipe where it mounts to the head?

The only aftermarket head that lets the Pro-tec pipe mount with all the holes is a Pro-tec, hence the missing bolt.

Nice ski, I think I want one also. :)

The ski hits hard. The pipe seemed to work well. There is one on eBay that just sold for 325.00 crazy. The ski should work well for my back up, or to sell who knows. The one thing that is a first is foot wells, after riding with them I can’t ride without them. Off the first wave I flew out of the tray. I really am pleased with the blackjack carb. I now want a set of 46’s for my RN.

Yes it came without trailer. As of price it's hard to get skis here in CA so the price is hard to compare with other states. This ski might be worth 1200 in KY, but in CA I would be able to sell it for 2000 all day long. I see crazy deals on the board for skis on the other side of the country that would sell here for way more. Lame 2-stroke laws.

If thats the ski i think it is.. its got alot more bottom end hiding in it.. Did you get that from Nick at pacific jet sports ?? check the low end screw(bottom) i think its out like 2 3/4 turns.. if it is, pull the black jack off and go one jet size bigger on the bottom (135/raise pop off to 24/26).. I got it running ok by lowering the pop off and turning out the screws but thats all i could do with what i had to work with in Havasu. PM or call me if you need some help..

I sure did get it form nick at pjs. Carbs are my weakness; I know nothing about tuning them. Nick gave me another low end jet and told me it would help if I thought it needs it. I can’t believe that this motor has more bottom end hiding in it. Nikad58 we might have to get together for some jetting and tuning.:hail:
