I just got my first ever jetski having NEVER been on one before in my life. A 2006 superjet and can i just say that it is the most difficult thing i have EVER tried to work. Motorcycling is a piece of piss compared to this malarkey (141mph with the knee down is just no fear, not skill) but i refuse to give up as i assume the benefits will be much more rewarding than buying a couch! (please reassure me!)
I was just wondering if anyone has a online workshop manual for said 2006 superjet? Would be very thanked! Also what do you guys use for spraying on the engine after each use for getting rid of the salt? Is wd40 ok? I dont want the thing falling apart on me in 2 years!

Cheers, thanks guys....

skip the WD-40 and go to CRC 656
available at most boating stores, West Marine, etc.
leaves a residue and doesnt damage rubber or electrical systems!:arms:

Since your other two issues were already addressed, here is your reassurance: Once you master even the most miniscule skill associated with a standup, you will never want to even look at a couch. And you will improve with EVERY outing. Good for the body, mind, and soul. I can not imagine my life without a standup. Honestly.

Not only are they loads of fun they are great for 'working out' if you push your body to the limit doing trick after trick and riding for long periods of time.

ride it, i bought one and after the first day i rode it i was questioning my decision and thought of selling it, but now after about 5 rides or so im glad i bought it

Standups are a very strange bird... It really doesn't resemble anything you do in life... It's kinda like skiing, but no, kinda like a boat, but... nah.. It takes a while to develope the muscles that you need to ride as well... THe idea of having the pole move up and down while you steer right and left is not easy to get use to.... and to top that off, you are standing, so you can't really brace yourself... It kicks your ass so bad that you just got to come back for more...

We must be idiots to be riding these ridiculous things... What the hell is wrong w/ us???

First time I rode a stand up I went out and came back in about 5 minutes and said screw this its to hard. That was about 22 years ago  . Once you start to get the hang of it it gets less and less tiering.

WD-40 away. Thats what I have used for all of those 22years. It does not shrink or dry rot rubber. Spray it all over the motor after washing the motor down good with the hose if you were in saltwater. Take the hose and go crazy spraying the motor and engine copartment down just becareful not to spray it into the carbs.

Someone once described riding a stand up to me as like trying to stand on an ice cube. I think that about summed it up!!

I remember when I first rode mine I felt the same way - nothing had prepared me for feeling like such a dork beginner. I could barely go in a straight line and it took longer than I care to admit to get confident going around turns. Now it feels like the ski is an extension of me, and I don't think about that stuff at all, but I wondered whether I'd ever get to this point when I was floundering around with my butt stuck out and my eyes fixated on the front of the ski...!

F**kin' tell me about it! Ive only just managed to go in a straight line and i can turn fairly tightly kneeling down and check this out..... i wouldn't even be able to turn in an area the size of a football pitch standing up! I feel like just a dork but as soon as i give anyone laughing at me a shot (if they have the balls, which they NEVER do) they soon shut the hell up! :banghead:

then why the heck are we living in massachusetts ? lol :haha:

and by the way fox..i just started standup for the first time 2 months ago.. ive noticed ive gotten better and better.. at first its all about balance.. a tip someone showed me this weekend when i was trying to carve was to turn my leg out ( like in a snowboard stance) in the direction you are going ot turn.. this made it tons easier to do hard turns and keep my balance when straighteing out.. i am still sore from saturday..

btw, is that what you guys do for footwork ?

I'm living here because jobs pay well, and my kids can get a good education.

But....the house'll be paid off in 5 years. I can sell it and pocket about $500K, the kids will be in college and I can move south where the riding season is longer.
