Came up with the notion that I want to take a month or two off and do a tour of the entire US, hitting as many places as possible and staying every night at a board members house. I would like to head east to Idaho, then possibly Colorado and so on till I reach the eastern seaboard. Then down the Atlantic to Florida, accross the gulf states, Texas, Vegas and Cali, Oregon and back here. Each night at a different members home for shuteye and a shower, possibly ride the next day or two then off to the next location. The idea to have members host the place to crash makes it very affordable, just fuel and food. I'm going to need some feedback on this to see who is willing to participate, my hope is that it could grow and/or possibly others may want to participate or convoy for a portion of the trip as well. Probably looking at the 2010 summer season if I can get things together.:fing02:

well reroute your first stop up here to Alaska. youll have to stay a week at my house thats how long it takes for each barge : ) haha would be a good way to kick it off though, come up and ride with us K-town boys.

This is a great idea. I really hope it works out for you, and I hope others follow suit. I know for sure that if anyone on here said they were coming through my area, they would have to argue me to get a hotel. I always have room for friends. I'm sure most would agree.
How cool would it be to have a network of places across the US you could go, and have a roof over your head. I travel for a living, hotels S U C K. The best part of my job is summer, when I can pack my ski with me and ride. Sometimes with people, most often by myself. It would be awesome to know you could potentially go anywhere in the US, and have someone to hang out with.

I looked into doing this a few years back, only I was going to get a camperized van to make the journey in. My plant was going to shutdown temporarily so we all had 3 months to kill. I ended up just getting a new job so I never got to do it.
