My recent trailer conversion

This started out as a POS 2000 Long Run Trailer designed to hold one couch, had a storage box and bunks. I removed everything except the box and started welding/fabricating it to hold our two new 2016 Super Jets. Custom Fuel Rack, Bow Stop, Bunk Brackets, Expanded Metal Floor, etc. Then took it to get media blasted and powder coated in semi-gloss black, then made the carpeted bunks, wired the trailer, new tongue jack. Came out pretty cool.

Here are a couple pics:

Awesome. Just curious if there is any advantage or reason for putting the bunks up higher then stock/normal?

I had to put the bunks up higher so both hulls would clear the fenders, my 3-Car Garage in the single car bay is not very wide, so I needed a skinny trailer to fit it in that bay.

The full black powder coat is the cat's meow. I've seen walk in powder ovens but none large enough for that trailer.

How did you decide on the cable lock through the bow eyes vs posts and a pin arrangement (with locks)?

What do you store on the mesh area behind the gas cans?

Nice work, looks sharp!

I felt the cable locks around the bows stops are more secure, you can remove pin arrangements with a wrench in minutes, I cable lock the front and rear of the ski - if they get through both, well I have insurance on the ski's. I put chairs or whatever on the expanded metal floor behind the gas cans, also stand on it to un-cable the ski's.
