Custom/Hybrid My Rickter FS2

Where to being....

Started riding skis about 3 years ago now with a 750SXI Pro, and never thought I would one day own a Rickter. But when a buddie calls you and says hey im selling my hull are you interested.... Well you know the rest, your god damn right im interested.

I sold my 750 over a year ago when I moved to CO to help fund the move and knew I wanted another ski. Thought I would just end up getting a SJ and doing some minor mods but nothing to crazy. Funny how plans change.

I bought the hull about 5 months ago from Larry aka SkinnyMan and had intended for it to just be a project for me to work on, figuring I would take about a year to finish it. Well after a 5 year relationship went down the tubes I said the hell with that and ordered everything I needed within a week.

Ive spent countless hrs thinking about everything I wanted for this boat and lord knows how many in my garage building it. But im stupid happy about how it turned out and couldnt be happier riding it. I love this boat. By and far my favorite hull I have ever ridden.

Before we get to business I must give thanks to a few people, who without their help this wouldnt have happened.

-Skinny, I cant thank you enough.... Without your generosity this would have never happened.
-Trevor, Daniel, Steve, Dwain, Greg and Kevin..... For all your help answering questions and listening to me ramble about this or that part Im thinking of putting on my ski.
-Joe and Jason at Honda Kawasaki West..... Got alot of parts from these dudes and they took care of me...
-Shawn and Greg at North Texas Yamaha.... Got alot of parts from these dudes as well, and its my old work place so... Thanks guys.
- Vendors--- JetManiac-Thurst-BlackJack-XScream-Blowsion-Rahhas-ColdFusion-HydroTurf- Thank you.

Pictures don't do this ski justice! It is BEYOND clean and everything is done right. And I must say it RIPS! This was my first time on a Jetmaniac motor and I was very impressed. Bear in mind that we are at altitude above 4000'. Usually skis that come here from sea-level dont run for crap! This one rocks - kudos to Quin for building such a nice ski and to Jetmanic/Blue & Art/Blackjack & Quin for an impressive engine package. Thanks for letting me ride it - hopefully we'll catch a ride together again before summer runs out... and don't forget Pismo - let me know if you still want to go?

So what are the specs on the Jetmaniac/BB motor? Is it a big bore?

Beautiful ski!

I like the idea of the flag on the trailer. I can never see my trailer or ski behind as I am driving.

Looks good!

I can't tell what you're doing in the picture where you say "I'm not excited to be doing this".

Also, that is how I installed my pump on my FR2. Damn that was a pain in the butt.

I was drilling out the hole where the throttle cable goes, not big enough for the over sized cables....

Joker....

Yea the write was deff lengthy.... I think it took me like an hr.... But thats what netflix and crown are for....

Neil...

Thanks man.... Gotta call you about Pismo....

iangdesign...

Its not JM BB motor but a 735cc, says all that at the top.... Same work as his BB just smaller overall CC size....

I had a chance to ride this for a few minutes while Quin was in Texas. I cannot emphisize how much I did not want to get off this ski. So well ballanced, the motor hits nice, the prop feels great, the hull.... F me... The hull... I just thought I hated my SJ.
When I rode it I think he was running two thousand PSI on pump gas, or something like that. It sounds like a Top Fuel Dragster.

Big internet highfive to a cool guy who's built a great boat.

I was running the larger Kawi throttle cable on my superjet that donated all the parts for the rickter build, but when I swapped it into the new FR2, it wasn't long enough. I have a rear pull single carb.

I had to switch back to a yami cable.

Can I just ask how much did this whole thing set you back?

I think im into it for about 16k right now for everything. Which I think I did pretty well, got some killer deals on quite a few parts so that helped alot. Helps to know people for sure....

I still want to put a mag in it and would love to do either a JM780 or a Scream 886 so that will bring the cost up quite a bit.....

Ematta..

I should have some vid at the end of next week when I can ride again.... I have a not so normal work schedule.....
