Intake package install on Freakie's DASA 4mil build

DASA with VF3.jpg
VForce 3 reeds and cages - PowerHouse billet manifold is perfect designed fit and matchup up to VF3's larger size stuffers.

DASA with intake3.jpgDASA with intake.jpgDASA with intake2.jpg
PowerHouse 2 piece billet manifold has a great design with great flow path and removable oringed carb plate. Better performance than other manifold/reed combos we have used and lower priced as well.

Novi 48s are great complement to this setup and sweeeet!

Looking good ! Andre is it test ride time yet ? I want a ride report Ha ha as it's about time with everything you have been through (sorry about the tee shirt and customs holding your ski for it) .

hey Tem no worries...I can laugh about that now...not your fault at all !!!!, but Chris must still ship over the Dasa package and I am already crapping myself that our SA customs get their grubby little paws on it. Chris....its looking very, very sharp, I need to book my vacation soon, that motor is going in the day it gets to Cape Town !!!!!

....here is how the front foot hold looks installed...
View attachment 231637

And YES....i did the does it sink or float test in my pool...full motor, riva pipe, battery, etc, etc, and I added another 6 kgs just to make it harder on Tem....hood floats so far
View attachment 231638

rolled her over
View attachment 231639

waited about 5 minutes....nose slightly under, and it just stayed like that
View attachment 231640

I had to pretend I was a bunch of waves and rolled her over and over to get all the trapped air out
View attachment 231641
and thats how she stayed for the next hour, so......shes a FLOATER !!!! yeah baby...will still put an air bladder in though
once I got her out, i removed the two drain screws at the back.....a teaspoon of water on one side only......Well done Tem !!!!! I can now thrash the hell out of my SF in the surf and wont worry too much......oh....I did notice that my hood seal is not perfect....water came gushing out from under the hood, when I pulled her out of the pool, so I need to check that out...its an oem seal, but maybe I didnt pull the ratchet tight enough....will inspect further.

Going to drop in the JM 781 this weekend and do a few small odds and ends go riding !!!!

way to go Chris !!!!

motor package.jpg

WOW......Guys, you just have give Chris all the credit for being top of his class.....shipping took less than week.....door to door, no hassles at all, the packaging is designed to survive a missile attack and the product itself ...if it runs anything close to as good as it looks, man, thats just crazy, alsolutely beautiful.

So now I have a decision to make.....which motor to use first.....DASA 4 mm or BB781....I ride mostly surf, but this time of the year we go the lake quite a bit too......tough call

Thanks again Chris.... PF pipe , total loss and one of Tem's carbon SF poles will be on order soon.

The wind has been howling here this past few weeks (its seasonal), but Sunday past was perfect so off i went to our local surf spot...almost no swell, but stunning day for a first ride...safe and easy.....got there before any other riders arrived, ...surfing dudes out in droves already.

first ride.jpg

my first time on an AM carbon ski.....its like starting over 20 years plus later and I cant ride to save my life .....in truth...ski runs fine on the trailer, but in the water.....iding ok, but just after idle until around 3000 rpm...seems to run on one plug, then the other kicks in hard after 3000 rpms and all hell breaks loose. Its a beast ..like a wide bull......Changed the plugs no diffrence.....i think I know what it is.....I took the e box off my RN (was working fine)...and dropped in an MSD cdi....also left the heat sensor off....did not change any HT wires or coil, as I figured it should be OK, and dropped it in the SF, in hindsight .....i think one of the plug leads cant handle the higher voltage of the MSD box.....should have put in new stuff......I will switch out to a new coil and wires, and try again.....I was still very happy though.....ski is light as feather, very snappy.....no leaks....stiff pole doesnt work for me, so I must go back to a spring setup...xmetal pole feels a bit short, but time will tell.

proper ride report still pending !!!

Glad you finally got her on the water! Sounds like a bad coil wire or connection at the boot. It might also be really rich on the bottom and loading up.
